Objective:
To guide team members on how to securely connect to Deployed Resources' internal systems using Cisco AnyConnect VPN and Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).


Step-by-Step: VPN Setup

  1. Install Cisco AnyConnect using the approved software portal.
  2. Launch the application and enter VPN server address: vpn.deployedresources.com
  3. Enter your Active Directory (AD) username and password.
  4. You will be prompted for a second authentication via Duo.

Step-by-Step: Duo Enrollment

  1. Visit: https://enroll.duosecurity.com
  2. Choose your device type (phone recommended).
  3. Scan QR code using Duo app.
  4. Confirm device registration.

Training Tip: Ensure all mobile devices are updated to the latest OS version before enrollment.

Common Issue: No Internet Connectivity via VSAT

Symptoms:

  • Unable to access intranet systems
  • VPN fails to connect
  • Voice-over-IP drops or no dial tone

Step 1: Check Power Supply

  • Confirm generator is supplying consistent power (110V–240V).
  • Inspect cable integrity from router to satellite dish.

Step 2: Restart Equipment

  • Power cycle satellite modem, router, and user devices.
  • Wait 90 seconds between shutdown and reboot.

Step 3: Verify Line-of-Sight

  • Check for new obstructions (e.g., tents, towers).
  • Use compass to align dish to assigned azimuth.

Step 4: Run Diagnostic

  • Access admin portal: 192.168.0.1
  • Look for Signal Strength (dBm) and Bit Error Rate (BER)
  • Submit screenshots to IT via secure ticketing form.

Quick Reference:

  • Ideal Signal Strength: -30 to -50 dBm
